ExitCare, LLC Announces Partnership with First DataBank, Inc.

By adding First DataBank’s drug information into the ExitMeds product, we are enhancing our customers’ ability to communicate drug information with their patients as well as provide our customers with additional functionality and efficiencies,” stated Roger Jacobi, President, ExitCare, LLC.
“ExitMeds™ is a module that allows users to write prescriptions electronically, perform Medication Reconciliation at discharge, and print drug specific educational monographs. Dr. Earl Showerman Joining its Editorial Team

Earl Showerman graduated from Harvard College and the University of Michigan Medical School, and received post-graduate training at the University of Washington. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians in 1984. For over 25 years, he practiced emergency medicine at Providence Medford Medical Center where he also served stints as ED medical director, EMS Supervising Physician, and Medical Advisor to the Center for Health Promotion. In 1986, he helped develop the Emergency Patient Instruction Compiler, an aftercare instruction software that would ultimately be installed at over 400 hospitals and clinics.

Acquisition of EPIC Software Systems Inc.

Lake Elmo, MN – ExitCare, LLC today announced the acquisition of EPIC Software Systems, Inc., an Oregon Corporation, and one of the first companies in the healthcare discharge instruction market. EPIC is an acronym for Emergency Patient Instruction Compiler.
EPIC Software Systems provides Emergency Departments and clinics with over 600 patient education titles in both English and Spanish. The company installed its first customer site in 1986. Currently, the company has over 400 sites using their discharge instructions.
